June Kizu June Kizu was a founding member of LACRR (Los Angeles Coalition for Redress and Reparations). This was the first grass roots group in Los Angeles to specifically pursue redress and reparations for the Nikkei community members who were directly impacted by the Executive Order 9066. She remained active for several years as the movement grew through the National Coalition for Redress and Reparations. She testified on behalf of NCRR at the 1981 CWRIC hearings in Los Angeles and traveled to Washington to lobby for the NCRR redress bill. She recently retired as a teacher after many years of service to Los Angeles Unified School District and served on the Asian Pacific Committee of the United Teachers of Los Angeles.
